I have a thought.

For X Factor, Britney is being forced to promote because it's part of her contract.

For her own career, Britney is in charge of it which means she doesn't do squat. Think about it: if she were just a cash cow, she would be forced to promote like everybody else because labels lose money when the material flops. Clearly she's in charge of her own career.

I thought she was releasing that album with rare songs on it. I don't remember the title, but I know it was something "rarities". I believe it was supposed to be fan released.

Seriously, it's crazy for any of us to think Britney doesn't control her career. It's pretty much obvious she does whatever da hell she wants - Just as clear as we all know she's never been a "business" girl, so, if anything, she didn't control her career back in 1998-2004, not now.

Even when it comes to the albums directions being supposedly changed, sometimes I just don't think Britney feels "safe" releasing something completely opposite to her "dance-y" usual material, so she chickens out.

As for promoting the X-Factor... She does it because she's happy. Now you do the math.

I think Britney will release it in the next few years. Artists don't release those things until way into their career.

I want her to release that book she was talking about at the end of "For The Record" and then maybe an album with tons of unreleased tracks.

If Britney was a cash cow for her label, her ass would be working that pavement like a hooker needing to pay rent, like a few certain indentured servants over at Def Jam and Capitol.

I wish she would use it more. I'm getting sick of her high pitched vocals. (i.e., I Wanna Go, Criminal)
