It's fine if that's the first time they decided to keep track of + hype view records, but there were Vevo videos that received more views in 24 hours prior to that, and Stupid Hoe was the only instance I saw of them spontaneously declaring a record without tracking its succession, and I believe that's because they just decided to start keeping count. And why not? We've seen what it does to the fanbases here.

Stupid Hoe was the first official one, but like I said, it's only a VEVO record. It's not a big deal that LYWYL and Telephone were obviously not included IN this record.

What doesn't make sense? They never kept track of or even mentioned a "record" until Nicki's video came out. They didn't bother saying who held it before then because there was no record. They just gave it to her. For instance, Telephone and LTWYL (and indeed, the Born This Way audio, which was a Vevo release) both received more views the day of their release. However, since then, they have tracked its succession, hyping every record-breaker.
