Obviously something because the general public always comes crawling back to buy her singles.

At any rate, no she isn't disposable. People saying her team is the sole reason she's a superstar are really trying it considering that a good team doesn't make an icon, the person does.

All of her albums honestly are sonically different from one another. Good Girl Gone Bad was a mixture of R&B/pop, and showed a young adult side of her. Rated R engaged into dark pop. Loud then brightened up and brought out a dance side. Talk That Talk displayed a much more wide-range of music types, as well as showing a overwhelmingly outspoken persona (very sexually-charged music, sometimes offensive attitude, etc).. but at the same time, she still holds onto certain elements of her older albums.

What Rihanna and her producers do in a sense is sign patents. She sort of marks her territory on a wide range of sounds and makes sure she has dominance over them so not a lot of people can break into those fields. Rihanna is a very competitive artist, whether or not we'll admit it or she really notices it. The reason why she's so successful is because she doesn't allow anyone to be a step ahead of her. Every year she is trying a newer sound, and it's making the competition trip over their own feet. It's quite clever, really.

The sad thing about it is that Rihanna's probably not even doing it on purpose (though Def Jam probably is).

Certainly diversity is one considering that all of her albums have been sonically diverse. She never really stays in that one region of music and that is something that is admirable about her ventures in music.

She's unique, i mean she can sing very good, she puts a lot of time into her work. She was also in an abusive relationship. That is also why she is popular because she sings with experience of what she have been through. Also, she's HOT!

What she also offers and have that her peers don't is :
She makes incredible music, first and foremost, and also her videos are awesome.
She is absolutely gorgeous.
Her image is impeccable, and is always reinventing her style.
She puts on a great show, admittedly not the best vocalist or dancer but she pulls off great performances and sings live.
And she's so genuine and funny.
