this is ironic yet interesting

in 1984 the same question was asked regarding Madonna and Cyndi Lauper

many wrote off Madonna by saying Cyndi will be the everlasting one,

considering that Cyndi Lauper won Best New Artist Grammy and Madonna WASN'T even

worthy of a nomination

and also because Cyndi's debut >> Madonna

and look at 2012 who is relevant and who is not!

looking at career patterns, Gaga seems to be going the Cyndi Lauper route,

Katy Perry route seems to be going the other direction!

she is simply not going the Cyndi Lauper route

Cyndi burst into the scene with immediate fame and success, with a grammy to back her up

the same way Gaga did, those signs led people to think that Cyndi is here to stay!

Madonna gain more popularity and fame with her 2nd album (just like Katy), all tho her 1st one

was no flop, it just wasn't as successful and as acclaimed as Cyndi's, during Madonna's 2nd album

Cyndi's fame started to decreased, not alot but slightly (very much like Teenage Dream and Born This Way)

I would say Gaga is a lot more ambitious than Cyndi was and she would try to maintain her relevancy instead of letting herself disappear from the scenes. Not to mention Born This Way sold around the same amount of Cyndi's 2nd album did, in this day and age. I'm sure Gaga will be just fine.

I love them very much. It's always the same. Monsters trying so hard to prove that their opinion is the most accurate one and just look how the things have changed in the last 2 years.

But Gaga and Katy have kind of always been around the same level honestly

It's not like Gaga or Rihanna where Rihanna has kinda had the upper hand since she's been around longer. And even now Gaga has had the most impact out of the 3. But honestly I still think Katy may be a bit more successful in the end.

And having an underperforming era doesn't make she's fading away. Just look at Gaga's perfume. Also, look at her tour receipts.
Katy have a hard time selling out an arena these days while Gaga sell out Stadiums in seconds.
