No, the label does matter. "Indie" means independent. This represents an artist that is self-releasing material or someone that is generally underground.
Indie is not a main genre, because it doesn't describe a particular sound of music like "pop", "rock", or "soul", for example, do. Lana makes pop music and she is signed to possibly the biggest record label in the world. She is not indie. She might have a fanbase that thinks they are cool and inde/hipster because they like her, but that's not that case. She is a pop artist.
