1D already sold out 101 tour dates for their second world tour even before their second album is out. Their first album, Up All Night, is second best selling album in the US in 2012. Their very first single What Makes You Beautiful has sold 3,5million+ in the US. More than 10million people like them on Facebook already. Each of them has millions followers on Twitter. Their VEVO channel has almost 700million views. Their second album is predicted to debut with more than 500k in the USA. 1D are not an icon, so is Justin.
The Fact that a current boyband did this is great.
I'm not saying that 1D is bigger than JB, but they are really coming for JB's success
