I think eminem has done more for rap than britney has for pop. His albums were more critically acclaimed, higher sales in this decade, higher first week sales, an album that was the highest selling of 2010, more grammies,ect.
In 2000 at the peak of both of their careers, britney sold 1.3 million first week of ...Oops, while eminem sold 1.7 million copies of TMMLP, and they came out a week from each other.
Eminem of course. He has an Oscar, Lose Yourself is bigger and still more relevant than any Britney song, he can still get massive global hits like LTWYL, his last album sold 7m, he's a global rapper which is not easily done. He wins on every level.
