The "47%" and "wealthy" weren't the "entire premise" of Biden's debate. As for style, Biden was aggressive, but Ryan just kept lying and backtracking and dancing around questions and bringing up new and/or unrelated topics.

Yes, Biden seemed strong and knew what he was talking about, the 47% thing and the wealthy thing are just facts. Cutting help for the elderly and college students directly correlates with that.

When Romney interrupts and Kanye's Obama's Taylor Swift (and with lies, on top of it), he's being assertive. But Biden is being condescending and smug?

Biden did exactly what Romney did, but better. Biden had answers and they weren't memorized from coaching. He was serious when he needed to be and he even tugged at Ryan's toupee a bit to see if he was still mentally in the debate. AS we could see Ryan was flustered by a lot of this and couldn't take.
