The point is, there are hugely successful "pop boys" around, and instead of being horrible to them and their fans, why doesn't ATRL accept them in?

Well... David Guetta's Nothing But The Beat has sold 3.2M+ worldwide (if you include the re-release), but the sentiment is still greatly welcomed!

He doesn't get respect because his music is just basic and generic.

Have you listened to his albums? Or just heard the singles?

And even if he is basic and generic, he's one of the best at it, so it doesn't matter.

1.4M WW? In other words, he's a singles artist that has done nothing but fun, catchy, basic songs for the radio to eat up. I don't believe that selling singles is the most important thing of an artist or that it makes them deserve respect (specially when the songs are basic) and I still think he's an incredibly untalented person since his lyrics are as basic as his songs.

I'm all for successful pop boys, but they can't make me a stan if they make basic/generic songs (the ones that the radio loves)
