Many artists have started out in wildly popular groups & bands, but only few have found success as a solo artist.

We know they have the talent, but do they have the charisma and a large enough fanbase to make it big? In this thread, we'll discuss the artists who have broken off from their group either currently or in the past, and see our thoughts on whether they truly make a good solo artist.

Personally I do like her more as a solo artist, but I've never been that big of a No Doubt fan so...

Looks like the general consensus is Gwen is preferred as a solo artist.

Now for Destiny's Child. We ALL know Beyonce is successful outside of the group, but what about Kelly Rowland? Is ATRL here for her as a solo artist, or should she stick to groups? She's had a couple albums since Destiny's Child but never really broke out on her own until she released "Here I Am" last year.

I definitely prefer her as a solo artist. "Down for Whatever" and "Like This" bop.
