I didn't say the lyrics were the same as her pervious songs, I clearly said it sounded the same. Stronger has many similar-sounding songs and we could replace this with "Honestly", sitting comfortably between "Dark Side" and "You Love Me" and we wouldn't even notice.

I'm a part-time Kelly stan but what has been throwing me off past My December-Kelly is that she's been starting to sound the same. Everyone agrees "MLWSWY" was a SUBG rip-off but at least AIEW was a decent album overall. Her slaying vocals are what's keeping me glued to her at this point, but that's just my differing opinion. Report me, label me as a hater a la Ainsworth, etc. Just keep in mind I'm not the only one with this criticism, food for thought.

I really just don't know what Kelly is even supposed to do anymore. No matter what she does, what sound she tries, people say it's the "same thing" sonically.

Maybe people are just hard of hearing?

You Love Me is understandable but only because the speed of the beat is the same but Honestly and Dark Side? Just because the chorus isn't as strong or what? I see no comparison with those two, honestly. ( )

I know it's your opinion. I'm just intrigued by what your arguments are for this. I would like to be informed by your side just in case if I'm missing something.

I know. I feel like people are waiting for her to do electronic/dance music, autotune galore and adding a feature rap artist like the rest of the pop world to say she's doing something different. Kelly is never going to do those things. Sadly I would love to see her explore electronic/dance but we know how she is. This is definitely a new sound for Kelly and I can't see how this isn't different from what she has done before.

Personally I think the chorus lacks a bit. The verses are great, her vocals are great & the lyrics are great. But the chorus is just not the greatest. I feel like it needs a boost. The chorus is usual fantastic on a Kelly song, don't know what happened. But I still like it and I'm jamming.

Sales: 1-1.5 million
Pop: Top 10
HAC: Top 3
AC: Top 5

I've always liked Kelly Clarkson but she kinda lost me during the "Stronger" era...

But you have to remember "Skyfall" and "Try" are going to be massive on HAC/AC. Thats why I didnt predict #1 on those formats, so I wont be dissapointed.

I don't necessarily agree with what you've said here, but people on this site really need to allow other people to voice their own opinions. At least you explained why you're not feeling the song. I'm not sure how I feel about it to be honest, I don't love it, and I've been a KC stan for many years,

Just because they throw a synth and a stutter in her voice doesn't mask this is same old Kelly. Same loud, lacking chorus. Same cheesy, "turning my cheek," "no one can tell me anything" lyrics. And the production is really cheap (those claps in the chorus made me chuckle). I didn't expect anything, though.
