I think he didn't do much research before making that statement. Lady Gaga has been doing alot lately. To the gp it may seem like she has pretty much disappeared, but that really is not the case. It was just a premature statement with him being ignorant to what is really going on, nothing more.

Erm... No it doesn't. At least not for me. I think Google personalizes search results so if you search "Lady Gaga" a lot, Lady Gaga related results will come up more often. So that's why she appears before anyone else on your google search. Not that I don't think she's a pop icon though.
