If Gaga releases something different and becomes successful then we can call her a musical icon. She is a follower in her music. Yes she did have some different songs in Born This Way but they weren't remarkable

What trend was this But yeah I do agree that BTW was a bit late on the heavy message in a pop song thing. Same with Bad Romance, but it was a HUGE seller world wide as well and will probably be one of her most iconic feats in the music industry.

Here's my issue with what Ne-yo is saying, it's not that he's saying she wont be an icon. It's just that he's pretending that she suddenly disappeared from the music industry and is now irrelevant. That's far from true. When Madonna or Britney took their breaks they were still very much so relevant, it's just that.... well they were on a break.

I could understand if he used the word legend. But right now Gaga has more chances of becoming an icon than any of the other popstars atm so yeah.

I mean: meat dress, having a bee species named after you, poker face, bad romance, born this way and btwfoundation, everytime someone wears something weird everyone mention having a gagalike look and that is being iconic and mentioned for the things you do
And I watched the other day a movie called young europe and they mentioned Gaga randomly in that movie and I thought ''Ohh my she is really famous all over the world'' and today I saw this and I think Ne-Yo is soooo wrong.
