It Is Wrong to have Nuclear Weapons?
People could say it is wrong to have nuclear weapons because Christians believe that Jesus taught them to 'love your neighbour' meaning that you should support other people and countries, you should not own nuclear weapons as it is immoral.
Owning Nuclear weapons is almost asking for trouble in one sense. If you don't have the weapons; other countries will feel less threatened so they won't feel the need to be prepared for war. Meaning they won't have to stock up on nuclear weapons which have the potential to wipe out an entire continent.
The weapons could also be stolen, this breaks one of the 10 commandments; 'Thou shalt not steal' also, if they got into the wrong hands; it would be catastrophic as it could be possible to single-handedly kill millions of innocent people.
Also the religion of Buddhism acknowledges that you should not harm people and should never resort to violence no matter what the situation. This is why monks are never involved in physical altercations (except in movies)
On the other hand, some may disagree with this statement and would say we should have nuclear weapons stocked up and ready in case of war. Nuclear weapons are also good for wiping out large areas very quickly if they get out of control,
I'm not trying to be rude, but it's a bit... comedic and you're writing things which everyone already knows. And I'm confused are you for or against the topic?
Well if your teacher is one of those super conservative Christians just say use nuclear bombs to blow up the heathens and gays. I'm sure you'll get a good grade just for saying whatever they want to hear
I have to write a For/Against/Opinion on the topic of whether it's wrong to have nuclear weapons.
It's meant to be at least one page wrong and has to include references from two seperate Religions (Buddhism & Christianity) for each section(For/Against/Opinion)
You should try to bring historical context to your thesis, highlighting examples that reinforce your opinion on the subject and don't put these common viewpoints.
