The RedOne one tracks were a very last minute addition to the album. Her team heard "Starships" and probably thought it was a stronger choice for lead single and that's why VVV was shelved. I don't remember her ever being annoyed by the song or not liking it, however, I don't think she's too fond of Dr. Luke.
