Nicki should have chilled but she shouldn't have shaded her back.
A) by shading her back it would just continue. Then eventually Nicki would be seen as the bully since she is the newer person and it would come across as her shading a legend.
Mariah has been allowed to be an over the top slick talker for decades so she would be the victim easily in that situation.
I really don't know the best option for Nicki because I would have never did what she did BUT I do understand her purpose. She was uncomfortable and she knew that going off would get attention and instill fear in diva Mariah...now Mariah wants to come across as emotionally uncomfortable because she was checked when no one else would dare do it. Nicki doesn't seem so uncomfortable yet and I would be surprised if Mimi talks slick again...Nicki's mission accomplished, Mariah's mission accomplished and AI gets much needed attention.
When Mariah does Mimi in the live shows and Nicki shows why the producers gave her praise then this will be a thing of the past.
There goes my plans for Nicki to collab on Mim's new record. I mean Nicki's feature did give Mimi her last official charting single Up out my face (#100)...imagine what could have been in 2013.
