I don't think the wait was too bad, it's just the 9 month wait after the VMA announcement dragged it out. Unfortunately we're in a similar position this time, too.
The BTW campaign timeline is actually quite good for an era: the lead single coincides with the Grammys/Brits, the second single could be a summer hit, the third single coincides with the VMAs, the fourth single coincides with the Q4 promo opportunities (XF, AI, TV, AMAs etc) and the fifth single coincides with the Grammys/Brits again. Could be more spaced out, but I don't see Gaga having long eras like TD.
It's a shame that she couldn't have a major collab single out about now, it'd bridge the gap between ARTPOP's announcement and it's beginning.
