I think she should release a Pop-Country song for the lead GH Single
I know it might sound odd or risky and some of you guys might not like it but hear me out:
Some of the most successful songs recently are big crossover hits.
If I Die Young, Love Story, You Belong With Me, Before He Cheats, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, as well as some huge crossover hits from the likes of Leann Rimes & Shania Twain.
Kelly has already seen some success in Country with Don't You Wanna Stay. Also, Country Radio is obviously wanting to play Kelly as Mr. Know It All peaked at #21 on Country Radio. That is for an old song with some banjos added in.
Kelly is also performing at the CMA's in November and that will be a perfect promo spot followed by the AMA's
All I know is that with Pop, HAC, AC, and Country supporting Kelly's new Single...it would be her biggest Single by far! (In the U.S)
wait wait I just analyzed Music2005's post and.... Kelly is releasing anew single soon + She will be performing alone on CMA Awards.....
Is she releasing a country single as lead from her GH album???
I just hope they promote it.
I mean they really aren't known to promote their artists greatest hits album/ single.
Hell pinks ****ing perfect her first live performance was this era.
I don't think Kelly is going to release a pop-country song and frankly I don't want to. I don't care if it has potential to be more successful but a lot of pop fans hate ****ry. I always said I won't support Kelly if she goes full country and I still stand strongly in my shoes.
What Kelly needs to do, is release the pop single next week and debut the country single at the CMA. In that way everyone can be happy and the first week sales will be massive with country and pop fans at her side. She shouldn't risk releasing one pop-country song, people are bound to hate the song. Just release a pop single and a country single.

Certainly nobody knows about the new single, no genre yet so it could be true
A lead single from a greatest hits album usually represents something similar as her previous records. I seriously doubt RCA is going to take this risk, especially now.
