It really does. As generic as it gets, it is quite different and it's still better than most of her first singles!
I don't find One Last Kiss to be generic though
To me generic means that it is a song that nearly anyone could have done. Not just the sound but the lyrics too.
One Last Kiss isn't Generic either way IMO. The song has many different sounds throughout the song just like an Alternative song would. The song is Pop-Alternative not just Pop.
As for the lyrics? They are actually very well written, just listen to the first verse as an example. One Last Kiss doesn't have a generic sound or lyrics. Raise Your Glass has both IMO.
Every song on the album (I only have the standard) has another genre besides for Pop mixed in. Most of the songs are Pop-Alternative and none are generic besides for one.
I do find Walk Of Shame to be the only Genetic song on The Truth About Love. It sounds like something Katy Perry would have pulled off well. I still really like the song but if any song on the album is generic its Walk Of Shame

Well the majority of ATRL are too far up their faves butt to really see clearly. I can't see any other Pop girl being able to think of the first verse of One Last Kiss and no one else is really doing that Pop-Alternative sound
