Well, as a performer and pop star he's not really overrated. I think some of his albums... aren't that good. Especially Bad. wtf is up with that album?
Bad is amazing
I like it better than Thriller actually, and I know quite a few MJ fans who agree
I think his worst album was Invincible, although it didn't deserve all the hate it got. It's decent, but not as good as his others.
His worst is Invincible, definitely. But no one goes around saying it's his best, like they do with Bad.
Well, it's up for debate if it's his best, but songs like Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror, The Way You Make Me Feel, and Dirty Diana do nothing for you? Not trying to get into an argument; I respect your opinion but the only song that I don't like on the whole album is Speed Demon () so I guess we just have polar opposite views. It's not as hailed as Thriller is but it still was very successful commercially and critically; it's #202 on Rolling Stone's Greatest Albums of All Time list
I dont think any of his albums are bad outside of Invincible. I just wish some of them were shorter or had more focus.
The quality of his songs are pretty great though
i could name a hand full of guys off the top of my head with better voices.
and it's 2012, no one cares if you can dance anymore. so people using that as validation for his status are just reaching.
until he died i had literally heard like maybe 3 of his songs tops.
he might've been iconic back then but up until he died no one was checking for him.
and once the radios started playing his music nonstop for a month i learned that almost every song sounds the same
Girl sit down. How is him being the BEST MALE DANCER OF ALL TIME reaching? Chris isn't doing it, Usher isn't doing it, or even Justin.
No one was checking for him but his "this is it" tour was sold out? right.
MJ is MUSIC. You gorls will just have to deal. None of your faves are or were ever doing it. Not alive or in the afterlife.

In any case, what album do you think is his best?
Dirty Diana The Way You Make Me Feel, the title song, and Smooth Criminal are basically the only songs on it that I enjoy listening to. Man in the Mirror isn't bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it.
No one was checking for him but his "this is it" tour was sold out? right.
I NEVER understand that argument. MJ came and showed how you sell out a concert.
The AEG execs said they have never seen a response like that and also they had enough people in que to sell out ATLEAST another 50 shows.
I don't either. I mean he was on par with Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson vocally when he was only 9 years old. He's not a weak singer
Because people think of singing in terms of timbre. Many don't feel his timbre was "manly" enough and doesn't understand the art of of statacco(which he mastered).
Also MJ has always had critical acclaim for his vocals
