I find it funny that so many people here equate fetishizing gay sexuality (Rihanna, Katy), employing a couple of queens as backup dancers (Beyonce), or sending a pro-gay tweet (Britney) with "support" for the LGBT community.

Gaga supports gay rights because majority of her fans are gay and it benefits her career to support them.

Rihanna doesn't support gay rights publicly (or ever) because majority of her fans are straight and because the urban community is not so supportive, thus benefitting her career if she doesn't support gay rights?

And Beyonce saying she wouldn't engage in certain acts (like kissing another woman on stage as a gimmick for shock value) =/= her saying that it's against her religious beliefs. It's just that is not what she does -- she's not a shock and awe, button pushing artist. Her words were taken out of context.

Anyway, this thread is a mess. The people voting Gaga are ridiculous -- she clearly supports whether or not you feel it comes from a genuine place (some feel it's exploitive, some don't), but, one thing that can't be denied is she is a vocal advocate for gay rights.

But, because some choose to, doesn't mean others have to, either. Of the women listed with the exception of Paris Hilton, I've never heard one utter a foul word about homosexuals directly. Now, if you want to get into who they support politically okay, maybe (if you're voting for or supporting politicians that want to continually and openly want to infringe on the constitutional rights of homosexuals then you are indeed unsupportive in the worst way).
