Discussion: Macbook Pro: Should I wait for it?

I heard that Apple is releasing a redesign of the macbook in 2013. Is this true? If so, should I wait until 2013 to purchase it? Thanks.

Retina 13in MBP will come out before the end of the year. It will look similar to the 15in Retina MBP but with a 13in screen. The price will probably be around $1599 - $1799.

Ohh thanks. Ill look it up! btw my school is offering the Macbook pro for about $1,200. Do you think it's worth it to wait for the Retina or should i just go ahead and purchase the one at school?

When it comes to Apple, especially their computers, literally everything is just speculation. They COULD be coming out with a redesigned MacBook Pro next year, but that's what we expected this year and last year. In my opinion, they'll be sticking to the current design at least another 2 years. It just works, the unibody structure allows it to be very thin and the aluminum gives it a luxury feel. While a new design would be nice, it doesn't really need it, and since the Retina MacBook Pro kept the same design, that probably means we won't see a redesign very soon.

It is heavily rumored that there will be a 13" RMBP by the end of this year. There's rumors that the iPad Mini will be announced this month, so it could be announced along with that. I would wait for that rather than buy one of the regular 13"s because they're so thin and the higher specs make it very fast (I have a 15").
