She should've released it during the summer. There was basically little competition and the single would've done better.
However, based on Xtina's past singles, I was hugely disappointed. The song was bland, and not what I wanted. It sounded basic, and something every other pop artist would sing to put as a filler on their album. I hope the next single is better, but knowing her management it will be a ballad.
she shouldve released back during the last season of the voice. Seems like she kept putting it back.
Personally I think she needs to get back to showcasing her voice in ballads. Instead of trying to compete with the generic pop dance flashy videos. Remind people of what they liked about her in the first place. She needs to beg for a classy ballad from somewhere, frankly.
I think premiering a Toby Gad type mid tempo/ballad during the winter would've been better for her. The poppy upbeat stuff doesn't connect with the GP nowadays because she does have a little bit of a negative reputation with her personal life stuff and the way she was with Justin and The Wanted on the voice nobody really see's her as fun which is probably why this year on the voice she's playing up her upbeat side more. I think a nice adele type song during the winter would've been best.
I feel like there is no buzz for Xtina, most people know her from the Voice, and Move like Jagger. She doesn't do guest spots on shows, or tv appearances. I feel like she waited so long to release this song, she needs to understand that new artists are popping up every second, and the public is quick to move on to the next. Maybe she can release a remix to this song.
I love Xtina's voice, and I hope the next song she releases she really brings her A game.
she would have released Yer Bady in summer or when the single was leaked.... in August
it would have been slayed the chart 1-2 weeks before Tyalor and PSY rocketing on iTunes
and now we have Ke$ha, Rihanna, One Direction, Bruno, Adele, and Taylor Swift who releases her single every week
With all the excessive pink confetti, hair streaks, it looks like she's trying to be teeny bopper. Maybe that would've worked in 1999, but she's 30 now. Plus, the sexuality is just so forced to me.
It just seems like she (or her management) doesn't learn from her own mistakes. People who want an uptempo, overtly sexy, club song aren't gonna go to Christina, they'll go to Rihanna, Katy Perry,Rita, etc. And I think if she keeps trying to pull that off, she'll always get outshone by those kinds of artists. It's just not her forte, her forte is ballads. She's one of the best pop stars when it comes to ballads because her voice is so strong and expressive. Ballads are what people will actually go to Christina to listen to, and Adele's shown that ballads can have a place in top 40 now.
I believe so. There is too much competition with younger/newer artists and coming from an era that under-performed, she needed an aggressive promo plan backing her. I thought for certain that The Voice would be used more to help her and there is still time, but I have a bad feeling that Christina/Lotus is going to get lost in the shuffle when its all said and done.
