PSY's "Gangnam Style" is now up to 27 million in all-format audience, according to Nielsen BDS, through a bit more than four days of the Radio Songs tracking week. (The chart's monitoring week runs through Tuesday, Oct. 2.) Maroon 5's "One More Night," meanwhile, the Hot 100's current No. 1, increases its total to 69 million on the building tally. The songs were at 20 million and 53 million as of yesterday afternoon and 15 million and 43 million, respectively, on Friday.
So, while "Gangnam Style" has gained from 15 million to 27 million in two days, an uptick of 12 million, "Night" has increased from 43 million to 69 million, adding an extra 26 million. Such numbers find "Night" widening its airplay lead in the race for No. 1 on the Hot 100 this week.
Again, sales, as well as streaming, will be key as to who trots into the Hot 100's winner's circle on Wednesday (Oct. 3). Keep checking Billboard.com for updates as PSY and Maroon 5 make their final turns to the finish.
As of Sept 30.
