Ok Hive, with all prejudice aside, do you guys think Bey CO-writes all of her songs? I'm sure she did in her DC days and maybe upto B'Day but after I'm not too sure...

I love Be With You -- one of my favorites on DiL. I never understand how someone can dislike it. It's so sexy with her mellifluous, honey coated tone and her falsetto on the bridge. The Bootsy Collins sample alone her taste is impeccable -- I love how she picks and uses her samples:

I think she wrote a lot on LOT, EOT, Schoolin L, LUUM and DFY

She contributes enough to legally gain a writing credit. Any writer or naysayer who dont like it is welcome to file a lawsuit (not callin u one though)

To get a writing credit on a song, you don't need to write something. I do think she has written on some song on 4 and maybe a few on IASF. But I think she does vocal arrangements mostly. That's apart of writing credits. Bey changes keys, adds belts, does harmonies and so on. That's what she gets credited for. Just listen to a few IASF demos and you can hear she changed some words, notes and so on.

Bey definitely doesn't co-write EVERY song. I remember watching something during the IASF era where she described how she approaches songs. If she likes a song that's sent to her she eventually re-writes it to make it personal to her and does the vocal arrangements. Her writing credits are definitely legit. I think its smarter for how involved she wants to be as well...after all, who can have their hand in every process fully and still manage to live happy??
