I'm sure this requires very little introduction, it's the sound to each of ya'll's childhoods. Many critics drew comparison with the one and only Baby One More Time, but didn't really give a toss considering the former is one of the very summits of pop itself.

A camera fell on Brit's head while she was recording the video for this (budget: now believed w/ inflation to be about $1m in today's numbers), and was knocked out cold for 4 hours. But instead of stopping for Starbucks and a random-ass Viddy shoot, she carried on recording. It got to the Top 10 in the US, but her record company messed it all up by releasing it as an airplay single only. Probably Cursetina or something.

That red latex suit...it was Spears's choice to wear it. It was considered too sexy at the time. Try telling that to Rihanna.

Oops! era Britney is just my all. My everything. I'll be 70 and I'll still consider this album one of the zeniths of pop. It's just pure pop excellence, isn't it? At this moment in time, she just did everything so right and pulled everything off with such skill and style. This still sounds as fresh today as it did all the way back then, and I reckon it'll still be a bop you'll have your children going loco to.
