Throughout the years, the world of pop music has provided many iconic moments in time, some spectacular and others infamous...but it has also left unanswered questions.
This thread will be updated daily with a new mystery that ATRL will try to resolve through discussion (aka keep it cute gerls).

Why did Britney shave her head?
Today's topic is: Why is Christina Aguilera a flop?
On paper, Christina Maria Aguilera should be the #1 superstar in the world. Insanely talented in both voice and dance, she stormed the world with her first two eras, going multi-platinum everywhere and raking hit after hit. But then in 2006 something went wrong...her big comeback Back to Basics turned out to be a minor disappointment despite a successful tour. Then in 2008 her Greatest Hits album was a resounding flop, failing to produce a big hit and barely going Gold in America (has it even gone Gold yet?) and doing worse elsewhere. The (apparent) final nail in the coffin was 2010's Bionic, which produced exactly no hits and sold so little it became the laughing stock of the internet fan community, going on to become an iconic flop that all other flops are measured against. Currently, "Your Body" sits at #41 on iTunes despite its "hyped" video premiering, The Voice promotion and decent airplay.
But all of this tragic commercial reception is despite her talent and performance skills which have not waned, huge promotional campaigns, big industry support and her working with top producers like Linda Perry, Polow Da Don and Max Martin. She should not have flopped by any means, but somehow she did. Christina Maria has commented that her music is "ahead of its time" and "only for true music lovers", but something tells me there is more to this mystery...
