They needed a change of direction! After WHUB's underperformance it was clear that the public wasn't going to accept another Rihanna single in the vein of WFL.....this is something different and fresh enough to interest the GP without them feeling like 'damnnnnn another Rihanna song' imo

Think she'll be genre merging on this album and a few will be involving reggae.
