RIM reports loss of $235 million in Q2 2013, 7.4 million smartphones shipped
RIM just released its Q2 2013 financial report, claiming a loss of $235 million on revenues of $2.9 billion. The troubled smartphone maker shipped7.4 million smartphones in the quarter and approximately 130,000 PlayBook tablets . Losses were less than last quarter, which totaled over half a billion dollars, and revenues were slightly up as well. Year over year, revenues were down 31 percent.
It's sad, because BlackBerry's a far better then the iPhone and Android phone. I'm going to have trouble finding a new phone if they go out of business.
Meanwhile the stock is up 16% in after-hours AND it's still climbing. That's not called being on your way out - it's called people buying your shares for huge ass profits in a few months.

I am devastated with this. The Blackberry I had before gave me the best texting experience. I hope they get back on track.
People don't care about texting and email experience every platform has sufficient email and keyboards at this point. That's why RIM is starting to make more phones without keyboards.
