I disagree. It added longevity to the album's era. If WDKY was first single, her whole era would have fizzled out by Feb. Annnnd it became a crossover hit on country. That song turned out to be a great choice.

It was amazing!! Kelly was so cute and charming. I was so happy that the set list returned to the 20 track unlike her last stop. The Breathe Me cover was just.... 
I'm annoyed that my phone was low in battery by the time Kelly came on....  so I only could take a few snaps.
Now off to bed to recuperate my hearing, my voice from singing and my soul from being slayed

The logic behind it was good but I think the impact could have been much bigger had they chosen a better song (I do like MKIA but it took a while to really grow on me), and in the end it didn't last on the charts for THAT long...

That would be amazing. But in this musical climate, she'll get buried alive if it is a ballad unless it is of Whitney's caliber. I am here for Kelly's own I Will Always Love You. Her talent deserves an epic song like that. All the greatest vocalists have one or two signature ballads. It's high time Kelly gets her own.

it would be so awesome if a Kelly written song smashed (and got critical acclaim) so people would respect her songwriting skills more ...

I was thinking the same thing the other day. An epic ballad rather than another catchy song will put her back on the map amongst other girl popstars and will impress people again

Kelly has one hell of an epic ballad though: Because of You. It's her only real hit song in my country. It's used on tv a lot and whenever I mention to strangers that I'm a fan of Kelly they answer: "Oh she's the one who sang BoY, right? She still makes music?"

I definitely think the single is one of the Darkchild or Kurstin produced songs. At this stage, especially for the Greatest Hits and the amount of competition in the Pop field right now, I don't think RCA is going to go with an unknown or a risky song. I think we're going to get an upbeat smash.

Two weeks, I think. If that rumor was true about P!nk and Kelly's songs being sent out the same week, it will be the week of Oct 8 or 9. But yes, she has to ****ing bring it either way because this is the most crowded the Pop field has been all year.
Rihanna and Ke$ha will fly up the charts (Though, I REALLY don't understand Ke$ha doing well because her song is HORRIBLE. I actually like Diamonds).. Adele might **** block both of them knowing her..and that leaves Kelly and P!nk in the dust somewhere with Taylor and 1D. 
I almost want them to wait until the end of October. Give Rihanna, Ke$ha, Adele and Taylor a few weeks head start before Kelly. That way she can climb comfortably and take over #1 when the others are finished at the top
But at the same time, if Kelly has a serious smash on her hands like WDKY was, I'd love to have receipts of her killing the competition But I won't hold my breath for that one
