Season 11 got over 800,000 viewers a lot of the time. That's pretty strong for ITV2.

Last season finished with 580,000 viewers on ITV2. And opened with 639,000.

We already had American Idol - for 11 seasons it aired a day or two after America, in primetime on ITV2.

A few seasons ago, we actually got our own UK-version of the show, where we had the regular version of the show you Americans get, but then Cat Deeley co-hosted extra segments behind-the-scenes, where we got in-depth interviews with all the contestants, and judges, and even Ryan Seacrest gave his opinion, plus rehearsal footage of the contestants.

This version of the show did air in America, but only in repeats and on FOX's satellite reality television network which nobody gets, so I used to upload the additional clips online.

500k is still impressive.

On the plus side, American Idol will be their flagship series, so expect loads of advertising with Nicki's face all over it!

All of the '5' channels are hardly watched...they need to go back to ITV2 or even take it to E4 or something!! -_-
