In the past few months we have seen our men and women of the United States armed forces do their best parody videos for songs we all know and love. We have seen everything from Marines doing “Call Me Maybe,” to the Navy dancing to “Gangnam Style.” But now it seems that the Cold War is stirring up again as Russian soldiers were found practicing their favorite musical tune.
‘MeanwhileRussia‘ just posted a video on YouTube showing Russian soldiers marching in unison and singing Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” They are flawless as they march in front of other units and drill instructors. Let us know how you like the Russian soldiers take on this hit song, and share what song you think our soldiers should counter back with.
Bad Romance is untouchable. Critically acclaimed both in music and video, its place is firmly cemented in pop music, pretty much up there with Thriller, Vogue, and other iconic record+videos combo. It drew the distinction of the videos/records of the 21st century from the previous ones - crazier, muddled, modern, metaphoric yet somewhat coherent. Also, it heralded the way music and videos of the 21st century should sound and look like. Gaga may go away, but Bad Romance won't. RAH RAH RAH A-AAH
