I am all for her new vocals, where did they come from??!?! Her harmonies are on point too, usually these are some of her weaker aspects but she has really stepped it up.
Just heard it for the first time and I can say that....I like it. I hope it grows on me further.I think I kinda get what 'stadium songs' meant now.Her voice is lovely.Her music is always somehow atleast somewhat different from rest of the stuff hot on the radio,have to give her/her team that.

Lemme rephrase, lol. Upbeat/tempo songs. It doesn't even have to be a "dance track" per say. Something like OG or Cockiness/BC in terms of tempo and speed would be fine with me.
This is kind of a bop! I hate how "shine bright like a diamond" repeats during to chorus and how there is no bridge verse, just vocals also, she begins to sound like Teyana Taylor at some points. Other than that, I like it! 7.5/10.

I think that really depends on whether or not this is a hit. If the public isn't here for it I doubt other artists would stray from dance-pop. I mean pretty much not releasing a dance-pop lead single these days is risky.

The vocals...the production. Completely unexpected from Rihanna. It definitely exceeded my expectations.
And to the others that don't like it: you were just expecting a WFL part 2. Which is ridiculous since the generic dance craze is slowly dying anyways.

On what planet is WFL considered generic? It certainly is not...it brought a fresh taste of Electronic music to radio, all without sounding like cheap, tacky dance pop that artists like Kesha use. The dance craze is just beginning. The US is drifting away from dance- pop (crap) and slowly embracing real EDM.

I really don't see anything new in this song, it is just a nice midtempo pop song nothing else. She had a couple like this before on RR and Loud.

Actually.I doubt anyone is sick of electronic music.They're just sick of hearing those same recycled half assed formulaic beats over and over again,like they should be.
