You know Mariah Carey, is a diva, but what's the real Mariah Carey music genre?
She before did Pop, now with The Emancipation of Mimi was very R&B...

in the record stores in sweden, she´s categorised under R&B, hasn´t she done R&B since daydream or at least after daydream?...i don´t see her as a true r&b artist tho, she´s just diva! lol..

I say she's neo-punk-pop-alt-indie-hxc-metal-r&b-hiphop-rap-ska-polka-dance rock with britpop influences.

I love here music, as you all know. So, after listenting to her for years, I kind of put her with R&B, but she's both too! So, I chose R&B.
