I'm a big fan and I'm shocked too! I had my expectations set fairly low because of "Madness", but this album blindsided me in the best way. I think this stomps all over "The Resistance" and I love that album. I still don't like that they chose "Madness" to be the lead single when they are much more suitable songs, but it works in that it prepares you for a very pleasant surprise when you listen to the record. It doesn't even come close to representing the album's sound.

I'm still coming off the high from the first listen, so I'll let it sink in a bit more before I give it a proper review. But it's so good.

"Madness" is literally ****ing amazing. As is the rest of the album, barring the jawdroppingly awful "Liquid State".
