The back & forth is redundant at this point. Charts, sales, tours, endorsements etc...are very close. BOTH have achieved ICON status. BOTH have been influential in the world of POP. BOTH are known as top performers in their prime. They just come from different generations of music. In all fairness, I think Janet is/was much more versatile & respected. Not just w/ music but business itself. She is also taken much more seriously. Can this thread die now?

And she's actually 15 years into her career and she is still getting #1 singles.
Can you please give me some idea of when Janet last achieved a number one album and/or single?
Britney is only 30 and she needs to retire already. At 30 Janet was still a top artist having top albums, videos and tours. So I don't get how Britney is superior.
Some of you guys are stanning too hard and not looking at things objectively
My age is not relevant to this discussion Barbarella and I will not disclose such personal information to you.
It is to an extent when (assuming you're very young) at such an age you're probably not appreciative of older artists, such as Janet, as say I am - who is most likely older than you are.
These Britney stans kill me. Admittedly Britney's more relevant today but when are you guys gonna get into discussions on how she's contributed to MUSIC. How she did something innovative that had a lasting impact on MUSIC. How you can trace her artistry directly through her MUSIC. Get real Britney stans you stan for a statistic, which is fine, but know your place when it comes to ARTISTS with receipts in critical acclaim, influence, impact in music and pop culture in addition to commercial success.
