valid point, but the way i meant it was more like.. idk how to phrase this without sounding like a moron but the way i see it is technology will have to develop itself to be more like the stuff you see in science fiction in order to really access the outer regions of the universe without spending thousands of years travelling there. obviously there's no way of knowing what kind of technology governments are trying to develop as far as space travel is concerned but imo we're limiting our chances of ever getting far beyond our solar system by approaching it as sending rockets or space crafts and piloting them through space itself.

I get what you mean, it seems like we're still looking at it as the same way we were since our first spacecraft launch just with higher speeds but nothing too innovative.
I know there are scientists that are looking into more sci-fi ways of space travel like looking for wormholes and stuff but right now that's just fantasy.
I just hope in my lifetime some great discovery happens.
