Judas was a flop indeed, but was it really shocking? It was doomed from the start


Katy's singles had nice gaps between each other. When you release 3 singles in 4 months and had HUGE promotion before an album release, you'll be overexposed in no time. I believe that was the main reason for flopping, the GP was just sick of hearing from Gaga atm. Y&I is a flop worldwide too, but it's not shocking either. I don't think any countries outside US is here for those kind of songs

Marry The Night by far, I expected that song to be her new Bad Romance

You're comparing a lead single with hype to a final single on an album most people had already bought or decided they didn't like.

Judas has sold just a little less than LoveGame has in overall sales but nobody is trashing LG. If something isn't a hit in the US, it's automatically a flop?

"Marry The Night". That **** just would not pick up no matter how many times she exposed the public to it. Imagine if she did that kind of promo for a single that didn't need it.

Well for one, charting isn't everything. Yes, Judas did chart at #10 and fell out eventually but the song went on to sell more than a lot of songs that peaked higher. Some songs do really well because of radio play, not necessarily because of sales. I don't really consider it that big of a flop.

Marry the Night on the other hand did flop and the fact that it was released near the holidays didn't help its case either.

It had last Christmas less airplay in AC format than Katy singing White Christmas in Hotel Café (2008). The radios digged up an old Christmas songs CD.

Lovegame is one of my fave songs from her. That should have done as good as Poker Face or even JD
