So here's the story, today i went out wtih my friend enjoying a good day, So as the day went on she was pretty much beating around the bush wanting to ask me "that" question but i was not ready to come out yet. However someone i was friends with a couple months ago i told them that i have had thoughts about guys etc but never acted on it and i thought i was gay, So that person went back and told everyone i am friends with everyone in my work center (which really hurt me even now at this moment) so the friend i went out with finally got the courage to ask me if i was, and i just say fk yet yes i am, and i didnt' want to tell you because i was afraid i would loose you as a friend.


SO as i told her she got quiet and i was waiting for a response but she just said nothing, i told her i understand if she doesn't want to be friends anymore and i know she is religious so i understand. I am just tired of hiding who i am and being unhappy with my life. So she then asked me what happened in my life that turned me gay? and i told her i dont believe anything drastic happened i think i just like guys thats just really the honest truth.

So as we were walking around she started acting differently, like she was walking away from me leaving me standing or sitting by myself, asking me why do i act they way i do, why am i wearing what i was wearing she even asked me what is wrong with me so mind you i am feeling so horrible at that moment, she left me to go sit inside so i followed her in and sat with her, but she weren't talking to me, i then told her i would brb because i needed to walk away so that i can clear my head and try not to keep hating myself for being gay, not to mention the fact that i already have a horrible self esteem and think i am a terrible person.

so when i came back to sit with her she left me, left me by myself in the middle of no where. i just dont know how to feel right now it seems like being gay is horrible in any way you look at it. why would someone want to put themselves through that type of mess?

have any of you felt like this or feel scared to "come out" please share

I have a really close friendship with a very dedicated Christian, we both respect each other's different views on life and we've had long discussions about her feelings towards gay people and about religion too.

Anyways, maybe your friend was just taken a bit back by you coming out and didn't know how to take it. I hope they think about it and realizes you can still be friends and everything will be okay

That bitch isn't a true friend and **** her. Sorry, I don't know what else to say. Just stand your ground and don't let backlash affect you any further. You have had this negative reaction, which is always a risk when coming out, but you have your whole life ahead of you to live free. Everyone deserves happiness and everyone deserves to be themselves, stay strong friend.

Anybody who doesn't accept you for who you really are, is not your friend, nor ever will be. I don't have similar stories, i can't put myself in your shoes, but you better watch out in life of those quasi friends. People who love you will always be there for you no matter what happens. And being gay is not a real problem, but some people don't get it yet.

My advice for you is be who you are, it's a little cliche i know, but it's the only thing every one of us should do day by day. As time goes by, you'll know your real friends. You can't make someone stay, you know?

Honestly, if she's willing to unfriend you because of your sexual orientation, she's not worth trying to keep as a friend. I understand how this hurt, sort of the same thing happened with a friend of mine after I came out. It wasn't as instant though.

it really sucks because she was my ONLY friend everyone else i know hates me because i am gay, if i am walking anywhere people laugh and make harsh comments towards me i try to keep positive but sometimes it gets really tough,,, really really tough

It feels so sad to read ur story, am almost moved to tears, I've had that huge banner hanging over me, I'm glad u took that step, I wish I could do wat u did today, yes Ur life wld feel messed up for a while and there are lots of challenges that comes with coming out nd it varies with your location, but the truth is that u r free now, you'll know who your friends r, bcos friendship goes beyond that, my best friend knows my girl friend, though we have never talked about my other life, he knows too I have tings for guys and he has refused to talk abt it, cos he doesn't want to stop seeing me the way he does now, if that girl was ur friend she'll appreciate how difficult it was for u to confide in her, have no fear dear, it will surely get better, wishing I cld give u a huge bear hug right nw, there's nothing wrong with being gay, like gaga said u were born that way, I know its a sin, buh I hope b4 I born in hell I get the chance to ask God why he made people gay, I'm sure He wldnt hv created us if He didn't tink us special and cool!
