It's no secret that Gwyneth Paltrow flies the flag for healthy living.
But it seems her outlook on life has gone a little far as she projects strict parenting on her children.
The Talented Mr Ripley actress has revealed that she only allows eight-year-old daughter Apple, and son Moses, six, to watch television in French or Spanish instead of their native English.

"Apple was cross as I only let them watch TV in French or Spanish. When I'm in France, I go to Boulevard Beaumarchais and buy all their cartoons," she said

Would you let your kids watch TV in another language?

No. They will watch Spongebob and The Fairly Oddparents in English and Gwyneth would deal.

Hiring nannies would probably be better and more fun for them. But my kids will be trilingual, so I don't see why not.

That's actually pretty smart. Even though I was born here in the U.S., my parents primarily spoke Spanish at home so I learned all my English by watching TV, by the time I was in Kindergarten, I spoke more English than Spanish.

This is a good way of getting your children to learn new languages from an early age, saving them the trouble of struggling through when they're older. I see nothing wrong with it.

Does she even watch these Spanish and French shows with her children or even know the language herself? Apple is going to rebel like a MF when she becomes a teenager.

smart imo. this will help raise them to be multilingual or at least be more open to acquiring new languages in later life. i wish i were raised like this sometimes cos i wanna learn another language but i find it real difficult

I've had many european friends who learnt English ONLY from watching UK cartoons/cartoons in English. When they're at the small age of 4-8 they soak up so much language skills it's unreal! I'll be sure to do it w/ my kids though!
