I think this is great for her! To really start from light-hearted, unassuming, almost bratty (but never grating, at least for me) pop tunes to being in a position to really show off what she has to offer as a singer and artist. I think her personal humility and easy-going attitude regarding her image is what will allow her upcoming music to shine.
