I was just wondering why popfusion doesnt alow images on signatures like in most forums.

I asked this a while ago. ke said it had to do with size I believe and how certain people would abuse this priveledge (sp?). I would LOVE to have signatures, but that's for TC to decide. = /

Yes, most sites require a limit and I believe it would be justified. We should have the option to add pictures into our signature with a limit. That makes sense.

Yeah, that would be nice, but people always seem to make images that make there be a huge scroll bar from side to side

Actually, making a matching banner/avatar set looks quite nice. I've only make 2, but some of the ones I've seen on other forums were EXCELLENT! There was the one person who made particularly good animated avatars AND banners!

1. It takes up too much space and it gets messy because people post like 40 pics in their sigs and it's hard to find where actual posts are among all the ******** that you don't even want to see. Forums that have those are almost always annoying to browse.

2. You can't actually put a limit on the horizontal size (as far as I know) since it's just part of the signature, and that could create the horizontal scrollbar issue (which is obnoxious). We already have a vertical limit on the size of the signatures anyway so your images would probably get cut off. The vertical limit is necessary as well because we used to have people with extremely long signatures that - once again - made it annoying to browse.

3. Nobody cares about your images but you. Fact. Sure they're impressive sometimes. But sadly, once we see it the first time, we're over it; we don't need to see it every time you post. If you want to show off images, we have a forum for that already.

Signatures serve the same purpose as an avatar. I suposed we shouldn't have avatars either, as the become redundant too? The horizontal size makes sense, but we can definately restrict that. ;p

but we already HAVE avatars, why have a signature as well? I see the avatar as more of an identifying feature, instead of reading the person's name every time I see the avatar on the left and I usually know who it is

Nick is exactly right. Plus, it's one of the longest standing rules on this site, going back to way before I was even an administrator. Images in signatures do more harm than good. This site prides itself in having short, text-only signatures that don't make the entire page look ridiculous.

We give you tons of ways to personalize your experience here. You have an avatar, a line of custom text, a Now Playing thing, a location, and a 6-line text signature. That's more than enough as it is.

I never said about how "impressive" my images were. I just said I saw someone else's stuff that i thought looks really cool. And i do use that forum for the stuff I make. I was just saying I like seeing banners in the signature part of the post.

I do understand what you mean when you say it can be repetitive and the annoying horizonal thing (I hate how page-stretching images, also).

But again, i was only saying that I like them. i never said "PNG j00 shuld 707411Y 4dd dem, cuz dey IZ 1337!" or anything about forcing you guys to add them. Just expressing my opinion (The only reason i say this is because that last comment sounded kinda mean the way you said it... Oh, and I thought that the things I made looked really crappy. I just said that I made them. I never said that they were any good [as I said before]).

And I also agree with you TC. It has become something that makes the board different from others and does make it look a bit nicer.

It really wasn't directed at you specifically at all. It was kind of a broad sweeping statement that in general, I doubt people are going to be excited every time they see an image someone else made. I'm sorry if it came off as mean because that wasn't my intention at all, it was more like just being real about it. And of course you're allowed your opinion and I was just giving mine about the topic too

Oh, that's ok. To me, it doesn't really matter if you guys decided to change it or not. It doesn't really matter, as the avatars are what really matter to me. I can't make very good banners anyways, lol
