"Hot in Herre" is Nelly's hit single, and signature song. It was produced by The Neptunes, and went #1 in America and the UK. Whatever you think of this song, you can't deny it is a quintessential club hit from the early 2000's.
Standout Lyrics:
Quote:
What good is all the fame if you aint f*ckin the models
"Slippin'" was the lead single from DMX's sophomore album. The song was decidedly more emotional and conscious than most of his signature songs.
Standout Lyrics:
Quote:
That ain't the half sh*t gets worse as I get older
Actions become bolder heart got colder
Chip on my shoulder that I dared a n*gga to touch
Didn't need a click cause I scared a n*gga that much
"How Many Licks?" is a single from Lil' Kim's sophomore album, Notorious K.I.M. The song features R&B singer Sisquo, and was a moderate hit in America, and a bigger hit in the Netherlands.
Standout Lyrics:
Quote:
Some n*ggas every put me on their grocery list,
Right next to the whipped cream and box of chocolates
Obviously, "Rapper's Delight" had to be here. At least it made the upper half on the countdown.
Anyone who hates "Hot in Herre" is dead wrong. It may have placed a bit too high, but that song is mindless genius, and I would hope that the past decade has been enough time for you to come to terms with that.
I think the song dedicated to the deceased rapper will be Bone Thugz Crossroads -- that was made for Eazy E (of NWA)...at least I hope because it's 30284032980349 times better than I'll Be Missing You.
