There hasn't been a head judge since Simon left, and he was only the head judge because he was a producer of the show and thus told the other Judges what to do, not because of the chair he was sitting in.

The Sun is REALLY accurate on The X Factor stories though. IE: The Sun reported that Simon was considering an Olympics Week at the X Factor. What did Simon "announce" a couple weeks later? Exactly. They have insiders.
Doubt The Sun on almost anything they ever report if you want; but the X Factor should not be one of those things.
