When Katy won the video of the year award last year she didn't really own the night and no one really cared about her winning the award. This year Rihanna's biggest song and video won the Video of the year award and yet again no one really cared and she didn't really own the night. For example, Beyonce won Video of the year and she owned the night (2009 VMA) and in 2010 Gaga won the Award and she really owned the show. The show revolved around them rather than them revolveing around the show. So today I was wondering and thinking will Rihanna or Katy will ever own a VMA night in the future. I'm not trolling and it's not a flamebait thread, just have a moment and think for yourself, am i lieing ???
Well her twitter before this year's show says otherwise
She wanted to win awards (Everybody does). If she wanted to own the night, she could have easily performed with you know who and all the spotlights would have been on her.
I don't think so. They don't have enough star power to attract public fascination and opinion like others. Unless they do something shocking or memorable.

So your saying she could only own the night if she performed with her ex
I don't understand why it even matters. Like everyone on here makes fun of the VMA's every year talking about how trashy it is but somehow people should be doing their best to "own" the night? BYE .
The BC remix got huge backlash and ultimaley flopped and got forgotten in a few weeks. Why are you so sure a CB performance, besides being tacky and desperate as ****, would have worked?
