Did they fade away? Are they disappearing thanks to other methods of obtaining music?

411/Last news on DualDiscs

I've been hearing rumors that the company behind this creation has gone downhill.



It also seems there have been less amounts of them being published in comparison to the past couple of years.

I liked them when it came to buying an actual hard copy of an album.
You had the music on one side, and some of the DVD features on the other side. (Which possibly had music videos, short features, performances, etc.)
Instead of downloading, this actually gave me more of a reason to spend $15-20 on a CD.

I have like 3 or 4 of these. I think they are cool, even though I don't really use the DVD side of it. I guess it's for feature reference. I just don't care for that part. I was thinking about getting ITZ DD. But nah....

They were never that popular.

I think they stopped making them because people were having problems playing them in certain players. I wanted to play Rob Thomas' album in my car and it didn't work. I think the last dualdisc I saw released was Weird Al's "Straight Outta Lynnwood".

Yeah I heard about the technical/software problems as well.

^Plus they were hard to rip sometimes. I remember it was a pain to rip/load Jennifer Lopez's Rebirth CD. I was tempted to download it.

Columbia/Sony artist were the only ones that had them

They weren't that popular and they weren't that long ago, so why have to remember it? Aren't they still making them?

they were terrible.

Dual Discs were a nice concept, but they always seemed to cause problems on my computer.
