Which album garnered more critical acclaim?

Britney's album, Blackout, or Rihanna's Rated R.

Rated R obviously.

Blackout. I can guarantee a lot of the reviews that were "mixed," basing their entire criticism on her public life at the time, will re-review it in the future. The fact Rolling Stone named the album one of the most influential pop albums and it was inducted into Rock & Roll's Hall of Fame says a lot.

Metacritic isn't all there is. End of year lists, and how they've been received by critics over time should be considered too.

Blackout is at 61 on Metacritic while Rated R is at 75.

Well, I don't enjoy Britney's music that much so I'll go with Rated R.

But I like Gimme More and Piece of Me.

Blackout. I have seen many publications talk about it's influence. I haven't seen anyone mention Rated R ever

A HUGE 14 point difference. I mean.. really? Just because 1 critic decides to re review your album doesnt mean its suddenly this big critical masterpiece. The other reviews are still there.
