What exactly is IP forwarding?
I know it's a routing method, but I really don't get how it works, and why it is IP forwarding, and what it's for.
Anyone good in networking help me?

IP forwarding. I know waht Port forwarding is. Maybe they're both the same concept, but I still want to know the difference between these two. I looked at google and I still can't understand a thing.

To set your NAT type on Xbox live or ps3 to OPEN so you can find a match in a mutiplayer game such as call of duty easier.

It's easier to port forward though and will do the same thing I'm pretty sure. What do you need to do?

I need IP forwarding so other people in other LANs can send requests to my server. And I'm running an Apache server on a virtual machine.

Depends on your router.
