**** today's eliminations. This is as bad as yesterday.
"Call Me Maybe" slays my soul. MY SOUL. How did it not even make the top seventy? If you can't bop to the best pop song of the year, then you need to check your heart, because you might not have one.
"It Feels So Good" and "Call My Name" are also clearly out too early. Please learn to appreciate these flawless dance tracks.
And no matter who you all say, "The Way I Are" is great. Stop giving Keri such a hard time just because she's a basic flop.
The only truly redeeming elimination was finally getting rid of "The Ketchup Song." For once, America had enough taste to ignore a dumb novelty hit and I am thankful for that.

MAJAH.
Someone needs to walk me through the appeal, because I don't get it. I find the chorus to be mind-numbingly stupid (though at least it's better than "Gangnam Style").

It's the chorus's reference to Rapper's Delight that thrills me, and reminds me of how far hip-hop has come.

Actually, that's an interesting point. It's pretty amazing how the grandaddy of hip-hop music could twenty-odd years later be used as the chorus for a Spanish pop hit.
It still strikes me as utter nonsense, though.

These eliminations were terrible. Call My Name, Call Me Maybe, & Asereje
I think I wanted to give Airplanes a 1. I really don't like that song, so me giving it a 10 makes no sense (I know I did, but I'm so confused)

An unflattering picture (there are many) of early 21st Century Melanie:
FINALLY! After 45 songs, we've finally gotten to a song where a 0 hasn't been given. The good sis Melanie Chisworth SERVES dance-pop realness with this number. She was, before a Baby Spice of the same group, the first woman ever to get a #1 as part of a quintet, as part of a Geri-less quartet, and then a #1 gone solo. It's a classic that spans genres- the dance mix by Hex Hector which was released as the single version earnt Mr. Hector the title of Remixer of the Year, whilst a more metallic version of this effort has been done courtesy of doom-mongers Machinae Supremacy. But even their gruff metal appearances are no match for Ms. Chisworth's ugly ass 2000s' hair.
Jinzo's verdict: 8.5
A little bit repetitive after multiple listens, but still better than a majority of today's dance-pop.

I didn't give this a 10? Are u sure?

An unflattering picture of Sonique:
It Feels So Good is a strange case. It was first actually released in December 1998, henceforth making it the oldest original song in our entire rate. It reached a peak of #24. However, being released again in May 2000, it became the first time since Kate Bush in 1978 that a British female spent 3 weeks at #1.
The Ciara of the UK, rumours often fly around that Sonique is indeed a man. But like Beyoncé's writing credits or whatever hides underneath Gaga's codpiece....we just don't know.
Jinzo's verdict: 8.5
An amazing, ethereal feel to it. So unlike everything else in the rate. It's good to listen to as you drive alone through the countryside. I have no idea why.

Nooooo
I love this song to bits.
The girls probably downrating, cause they haven't heard it.

You have no soul: 0 x5 (HaHa2011, Mandarke, Regina George, lovesong, Konichiwa)
A bottle of ketchup:
Did you know that they don't have tomato ketchup in Uganda? Well, you do now.
A real surprise package of the rate, this condiment-based legend manages to beat out 65 other songs to finish at a very respectable halfway point- and it's gotten far more 10's than any other song eliminated so far! The lead single off album Hijas Del Tomate (which Google Translate says means Tomato Daughters), this cult classic reached the top of the charts in 27 different countries.
In France, it's sold 1.75 million copies, and is their 6th best-selling song of all time. And thanks to a Portugese remix, it's sold over 2 million in Brazil. Its cultural impact was in fact so much that in the Phillipines, a Christian sect known as Iglesias i Cristo banned its followers from listening to the song, as they believed it to be a form of Satanism. Illuminati before illuminati was even a 'thing'.
Jinzo's verdict: 10
Iconic. Legendary. Game-changing. A song about tomatoes, what's not to love?

This was a year-defining hit and people still remember the dance to this day. Not to mention the song is great despite the stupid name

IKR? Especially Sonique. That song is so euphoric. I can just close my eyes and feel high listening to its chorus.

I'm the most annoyed about Las Ketchup leaving the rate
I don't care about any of the other eliminations now
Not even Freak Like Me
And the next elimination of 8 is HORRIFIC
