"This may be the first time it's revealed, but originally JLo was in the mix. That didn't happen," he added.

"And the thing about Britney and Christina was they had history, so it was not easy to get them together on the stage.

"Both Britney and Christina obviously respected Madonna, so only she could pull that off. You have to have that kind of pull."

Earlier this year, Madonna invited Spears to join her on stage for another kiss after being congratulated by the star for her latest album MDNA.

The key part. We've known this since 2003. An article from September 18, 2003:

That proposal, however, wasn't acceptable, and Pink was taken out of the running. But since she was only apprised of the singing aspect of the performance, not the kissing, it begs the question: Had scheduling not been a problem, would she have been willing to make out with Madonna? "I'm very surprised that kisses, or girl-on-girl, or guy-on-guy, is that interesting still, to this day," she laughed.

So Christina was like the third choice after Pink and J-Lo? I guess that was probably due to what the MTV Exec said in the article this past week, XTina/Britney had history.

This makes me feel extra digusted about the generation that's coming up now if you're in your early 20s or younger. J-Lo was in her 30s, Madonna in her early 40s.

J-Lo was definitely not Pink, Xtina and Britney's age at the time though. Was J-Lo at the top of her game then and dating Ben? I forget.
